FRANCIS JOINS
The Welsh Premier league club Llanelli AFC have decided to appoint Ken Francis as the replacement for Nitin Parekh, who recently stepped down from his role as the chairman of the club.
Parekh stated that he was stepping down from his role due to family and work commitments. Parekh has been the chairman of Llanelli AFC since 2005. A statement released on the official website of the club stated that Ken will be working towards improving the profile of the club in the community. Ken Francis stated that it is a privilege to be taking over as the chairman of a club like Llanelli AFC.
He has recalled the time when he was the President of the club. He has been involved in the club in various forms over the last 30 years. Now, he will be looking to bring in his experience and knowledge about running a football club to the benefit of Llanelli. He also thanked Nitin for the work he has done over the last eight years. The manager Bob Jeffrey has hailed the period of Nitin as a remarkable one during which time the team has achieved great success. He is hoping that the sexes continuous under the regime of Ken Francis as well.
"I have had an interest in the Reds in some capacity for over 30 years, including a spell as president of the club when the late John James was chairman. I have been in the licensed trade for over 40 years and will be looking at incorporating my knowledge and experience to the benefit of the football club. My sincere gratitude goes to Nitin for making his tenure as chairman the most successful period in the clubs long and distinguished history," said Francis in a statement after taking over as the chairman.
