Coleman delighted after recent performance

Chris Coleman was once again a delighted man after his Welsh team continued their impressive run of form in the Euro 2016 qualifiers with a 2-1 win over Cyprus. This was always seen as one of the difficult tests for the Welsh in their efforts to qualify for a major tournament in a long time. Even with a difficult group that also features the likes of Belgium, Wales have managed to go top of the table of the three matches. They remain undefeated in these three matches. Apart from Belgium, Cyprus were seen as the biggest threat for Wales in their efforts to qualify for the tournament.
Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale has been continuing his impressive form with the national team over the last few months. He once again proved crucial against Andorra after scoring two goals in the second half to get his team to three points away from home. He did not get on the scoresheet against Cyprus, as his brilliance was not needed due to the performance of other players. Cotterill opened the scoring after just 13 minutes before Robson-Kanu doubled the advantage for Wales 10 minutes later. Laban’s goal in the 36th minute provided some cause for concern, but Wales held on for the victory with just 10 men after King was sent off in the 47th minute.
“My heart was jumping out of my chest. When I saw the red card, I thought that’s going to kill us. We went 2-0 up and were cruising and should be three or four up, really. We got a bit sloppy. I think we thought it was going to be a rout, but these games you have to kill them off. We got to half-time and said, ‘Let’s set our stall out and be calm’, but with the red card so early on you think it’s not going to be our night. But credit to our players,” said Coleman.
